Hello beautiful people, December 13th is the day and it is all about community and assisting others to push their personal boundaries, set some PR’s and have fun. Greg Mitchell is flying in from the Gold Coast, Tim Howley,Ron Sammut love meeting new people along with James Roberts, Jeremy Young, Glenn Martinovich, Mathew Jennings, Peter Rash, Ben Taylor, Steve Clarke, Colin Ottaway, Shaun O'Neill, Kevin McIlduff it’s going to be a fun day. Hopefully we will see you all there.December 13th is the day! The countdown is on, with just 57 days until we roll out from under the Narrows Bridge at 4:00 am. So far, we have 10 people locked in, and we would love for you to join us on this exciting journey. I am personally capoing my distance to 300km which will mean heading to much back down to Pinjarra Road and return. Keep reading those going longer and please pm or dm me if you are.
We will meet on December 13th at 4:00 am under the Narrows Bridge to head to Muchea. Whether you choose to ride a little or ride the lot, it's all about looking after each other and helping some people achieve personal distance records, whether that be 100, 200, 300, 400 km, or more.
Our second pick-up point is the Raffles Hotel at 8:00 am, where riders will fill up their water bottles at the service station next to Raffles on Kintail Rd.
We have set points for those dropping off people at 100, 200, 300, 400 km, etc., so you can relax, ride a little, or ride the lot, but please try to set a distance PB. There is access to water every 50 to 60 km via quick stops for some food and drink. However, I suggest you keep two 1-liter bottles on your bike. Bring your own electrolyte, food, and good humor!
The plan is to roll smoothly to Muchea at 4:00 am and return to pick up other riders at the Raffles at 8:00 am approximately (120 km mark) for those who preferred their beauty sleep or are looking to ride 200 km or less.
The pace will be smooth and consistent, and I will keep it controlled so everyone can relax and enjoy the scenery. Those of you rolling shorter distances can assist the long-haul riders with consideration and tapping easy. Our expected average pace will be approximately 31 to 33 km/h over the entire journey for the 400 km ride. I repeat, the pace will be smooth and consistent to ensure everyone gets a sit. The day is all about assisting others to achieve a PB distance-wise, so leave your ego at home.
For those going to 300k we will head back after stopping at the service station on Pinjarra road howevef those taking on the full 400k journey, they will have a bite to eat at Preston Beach on the return leg at approximately 270 km.
We will firm everything up depending on everyone’s preferences closer to the day, but it will pretty much follow the above well-tested protocol with minimal road time and use of our paths. Feel free to invite a friend! (Those intending to ride 500 km, please PM to arrange an earlier start time or roll longer after we drop the 300 km and 400 km riders off.) In previous years, we’ve had 70 plus riders, so please join us.
Hopefully see you there and share a laugh as we roll together.
