About the Comedians:
Jillian Ebanks, originally from New Jersey, is now a Chicago based comedian, actor, writer and producer. She is the co-creator and co-producer of the variety show @BapsComedy. As a sketch comedian, she previously performed with The Second City National Touring Company. She has also performed in America; It’s Complicated! at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Dance Like There's Black People Watching at The Woolly Mammoth Theater Company. As a standup comedian, she's performed at top comedy clubs and showcases including Laugh Factory and Lincoln Lodge. Instagram: @Curlyhairnocare
Jarrell Scott Barnes is a writer and stand-up comedian from Chicago, Illinois. He's a cast member of the longest running independent comedy show "The Lincoln Lodge”, which birthed comedic superstars such as Kumail Nanjiani, Hannibal Buress and Cameron Esposito.His original comedic scripts such as “Southside of OZ” (musical) , “The Revolution House” (stage play) and “Too Lit For TV” (sketch revue) have been performed at venues such as Second City Chicago & LA, IO Chicago and the prestigious Steppenwolf Theater. Currently, You can watch him on "Tumbleweeds" (VICE TV) with Rapper Killer Mike.
Arlieta Hall is a host, actress, improviser, stand-up comedian, writer, and a first-time filmmaker from Chicago. She is one of The Second City NBC Bob Curry Fellowship recipients. Arlieta also co-starred as Sadie on Showtime’s The CHI episodic and is a co-producer of the comedy variety show My Best Friend is Black. Arlieta was a caregiver for her father who died from Alzheimer’s disease. She took the power of “Yes, and…” to communicate with him and used their story to make her first feature documentary “Finding Your Laughter”. She recently wrote and performed in The Second City’s sold-out 2023 and 2024 Black Excellence Revue and is now a 2023-24 Sisters in Cinema Documentary Fellow. Michael Njuguna Robinson, a Kenyan-born, Chicago-based comic, offers a fresh and unique perspective to the comedy scene by blending his Kenyan heritage with his experiences living in the United States. His humor often bridges cultural divides, touching on themes of immigration, identity, and the quirks of navigating life between two vastly different worlds. This combination of global and local viewpoints enables him to connect with diverse audiences, providing insightful, relatable, and often hilarious commentary on life.
