Followed by a Post-Screening Panel Discussion: Are We Doing the Right Thing? Society's Overreliance on Psychiatric Drugs
Panelists include:
Robert Whitaker, Journalist/Author, "Anatomy of An Epidemic"
Gretchen LeFever Watson, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Sami Timimi, M.D., Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Brooke Siem, Author, "May Cause Side Effects"
Lynn Cunningham, Filmmaker, "Medicating Normal"
Award-winning documentary "Medicating Normal" (as seen on PBS) tells the untold story of the long-term consequences of taking prescribed psychiatric medications (anti-anxiety meds, sleeping pills, antidepressants, ADHD meds, etc). One-in-five Americans take these commonly-prescribed medications daily, and often for a lifetime. The claims extolling their benefits are often the only ones presented in mainstream media. The other side of the story is rarely reported, and it is a story of harm done.
FREE to attend. Donations will be accepted after RSVP or at the event.
