Meals on Wheels was established in 1971 in response to an identified need in our elderly community. Today, the program provides a hot, nutritious, noon-time meal to our aging and/or handicapped participants to prevent food insecurity and to improve the overall well-being of this most vulnerable population. Our mission is to assist individuals to remain in the preferred setting of their home for as long as it is safe. The program serves over 500 vulnerable adults in Okaloosa County. We hope to bring awareness and support to this critical need for at-risk participants as well as those we still have not reached.
