RIBA International: Madrid City Building Tours DAY 2

Join RIBA Europe in Madrid for engaging building tours and a networking cocktail reception, as we build on the success of RIBA Europe's events in Paris and Milan earlier in 2024.

RIBA Europe Chapter are delighted to announce its autumnal and third event for 2024, taking place in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain.

Following the success of the recent Paris and Milan events, RIBA Europe have further organised an architecturally detailed programme for RIBA members and enthusiasts alike. This will be a truly, unmissable event.

Spanning over a two day period, the focus will be on the transformation of specific existing buildings and unique places in the city. Stops will include; palace building tours, royal collections, engaging lectures, colloquiums, local building tours and finishing with a networking cocktail reception.

Agenda

Day 2 - Saturday 26 October

• 9:00 Visit to Madrid Calle 30 and Madrid Rio – Transformation & Regeneration of the City. Please meet at Alonso Martínez 2 - bus area.
• Guided tour of Madrid CALLE 30 offices and tunnel
• Visit to the Traffic Control Center. Guided tour on the buses through the Calle 30 tunnel and a tour of the facilities under the vehicle traffic lanes, emerging at the Madrid Rio Gardens.
• 11:30 Madrid Rio Gardens
• Gardens at the Dominique Perrault bridge. Stop and enjoy the gardens at the Dominique Perrault bridge followed by a short walk and transfer by bus to Matadero Cultural Center.
• 12:00 Arrival at Matadero Cultural Center and lunch
• 13:30 Words by former Mayor of Madrid Alberto Ruiz Gallardon and team
• 14:00 Words by the Townhall office - new Madrid extension of Madrid Norte
• 14:30 Words by Carlos Muriel from Buckley Gray Yeoman - what's coming up project wise in Spain, Europe and the UK.
  15:00 – 16:00 Guided tour of a variety of buildings and activities of the Cultural Center Matadero
