Join The Providence Eye to hop on a school bus in Providence and trek out to Johnston, the site of Rhode Island's ONLY landfill, which is estimated to reach capacity in the next 20 years. This trip out to Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation will be an illuminating (and maybe a little stinky) experience for those interested in what happens to their trash after it's scooped up by the garbage truck.
Together, we will brainstorm what happens after the landfill fills up, as well as possible ways to reduce waste output.
Ticket sales include transportation to the Johnston site. This tour is not recommended for small children, as it will require prolonged time on a bus. Meet for the bus at JWU Harborside Campus, Parking Lot F.
