Rhythms are everywhere: Improv workshop and performances

Rhythms are everywhere! In our homes, in the park, at the office, on the train, in our conversations, in our bodies … and of course, in our hearts <3

The Godown is excited to collaborate with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Panteli as he hosts an interactive 90 minute workshop to explore exactly this - the everythingness of rhythm! Andreas specialises in improvisation and folk percussion; with a flare for dance rhythms. We will learn how to adjust the rhythm to different styles of music, there will be performances with local artists, and we will end with a guided jam session; where we will practise being free and letting go.

On Saturday 28 September 7pm, bring your instrument*, your voice, your friends, neighbours or just yourselves to what is going to be a fun and unique evening in The Godown.

About our host, Andreas Panteli

Currently a doctoral candidate in Artificial Intelligence, Andreas is a drummer first and a researcher second. His passion for music and for Dolly (his drumset) matches his appetite for new and challenging rhythms. With about 20 years of experience in drums he always seeks to push the boundaries of drumming techniques, especially with his characteristic "dancing" style of drumming. He also has the warmest hug and heart of anyone that has played in our studio and can't wait to meet you all!
