Join us at the Near North Library for art making inspired by William Walker's "All of Mankind" mural and feel the rhythm of our community!
About this Event

All ages are invited to the Near North Library for an afternoon of arts & crafts to help us honor and reimagine a neighborhood mural that was whitewashed in 2015.
In 1972, artist William Walker painted murals on the facade and interior of Strangers Home Missionary Baptist church located at Evergreen and Clybourn. Once surrounded by Cabrini-Green's "White" buildings, the church now stands on its own and has remained vacant for nearly 20 years.

One of the crafts will be a community recreation of the mural that will be displayed at the Near North branch!

This program is a collaboration with the Near North Library, Art on Sedgwick, and teens from their Art & Impact program with After School Matters.
