Footnotes Tap Ensemble takes audiences on a vibrant journey through the history of tap dance at the historic Rialto Theater. A nonprofit professional tap company, Footnotes Tap Ensemble has been a consistent presence in the Triangle for over 20 years, dedicated to promoting, preserving, and performing this uniquely American art form through ensemble concerts, community performances, and tap workshops.
This evening features special guest artist Josette Wiggan, a highly sought-after performer and educator specializing in tap and vernacular jazz (https://kaufman.usc.edu/faculty/josette-wiggan/).
Accompanied by the Theous Jones Quartet, the performance celebrates tap’s roots and evolution through live music, rhythm, and movement. The program also includes a special appearance by local swing dancers.
