No dance experience needed! Join us for gentle Afro-Caribbean movement, music, snacks, and joyful Black senior community connection.
Rhythm & Roots: Gentle Afro-Caribbean Dance for Black Seniors is a fun-filled, one-hour outdoor movement gathering hosted by Baobab Black Seniors Care Society.
This low-impact session is created especially for Black seniors and their families and celebrates movement, rhythm, culture, memory, and community connection. You will be guided by a professional young Black youth dance instructor, who will teach gentle seated or standing movements inspired by Afro-Caribbean Black music. The steps will be simple, easy to follow, and adaptable for different mobility levels.
No dance experience is needed. You are welcome to move, sway, clap, dance seated or standing, or simply enjoy the music and community atmosphere.
This is a free event, and registration is required as space is limited. Snacks, drinks, and water will be provided.
Please wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes. You may also wish to bring sun protection if needed.
