Likewise is a community centre based in South Hampstead/Swiss Cottage, with a focus on community connection, wellbeing and mental health. Our aim is to create spaces and places where anyone can receive support, and anyone can belong. Meet your Workshop Leader

The workshop will be led by Mark Pampel, a professional musician, pianist and composer with many years of experience performing, teaching and facilitating inclusive music sessions.

Mark has lived with Usher syndrome, a condition that has gradually affected both his sight and hearing. Through music, he has found a powerful way to express himself, connect with others and build confidence. As he describes it, "When I play the piano, I'm no longer a deaf-blind nobody. I'm in a different world."

Alongside performing as a pianist, Mark has extensive experience leading percussion workshops for people experiencing mental health challenges. His sessions are relaxed, welcoming and centred around the joy of making music together, encouraging everyone to explore rhythm regardless of previous musical experience.

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or simply looking to enjoy music in a supportive environment, Mark will guide you through an engaging and enjoyable workshop where everyone can take part.
