The RHSAA invites the community to this ceremony to formally dedicate the "Fallen Alumni" memorial, which was placed on campus in 2025. The short ceremony will honor each of the Roosevelt alumni who were killed as a result of their military service, including a reading of the names engraved on the memorial. The event is supported by local veteran groups, and will include a few speeches.
Note: Seating will be limited and reserved for those with mobility needs. Due to the holiday, the school will not be accessible and restrooms will not be available.
Background: The Memorial Garden is a public space that includes several memorials dating back to WWII. This newest memorial recognizes the Roosevelt alumni who lost their lives as a result of their military service. More than a decade has been spent identifying these individuals and documenting their stories, and that research continues. This stone was placed last spring, and a handful of additional names are being engraved later this month, and we can now host this ceremony to dedicate the stone.
