About this Event
Our bodies can be politicised, sexualised and medicalised, and are often a site of conflict and discontent. This workshop will focus on nurturing positivity and reconnection.
Participants will look at poetry that focuses on the body and bodily experiences, examine which techniques are used to bring those experiences to life on the page and use writing exercises and discussion to explore their own experiences and relationship to their body. Participants will be able to share work with the group if they wish. This workshop is open to anyone over 16 of any gender. You will need:• A pen and paper• A curious mind• An open heart.
Kat Lyons is a Queer writer, performer, workshop facilitator and creative producer. They were Bristol City Poet from 2022-24, and their poetry collection Love Beneath the Nails is available from Verve Poetry Press.
