Our first all-dayer of the year is here, with two great guests bringing their own selections, John Szpajer and Marc Coe. That’s the heart of Revolutions at the Library — the only rule is that it has soul.
We’re not tied to one corner of Soul, Funk, or Jazz. Northern, Modern, Crossover… our music touches all of them and then goes further.
It’s everything that makes African American music so powerful — its culture, its roots, and the influence it had and does still have on popular music across the world.
Our DJs play what speaks to them because it’s been part of their lives since puberty, or maybe even before! And just like all the great people who come down to support us: open minded soul lovers who get it.
And yes, you’ll hear the occasional non vinyl track — music that never made it onto record (a carver does not count) — because sharing great work from artists, writers, and producers matters more than format.
Free admission, free parking, and a free guest compiled CD for the first 35 people (one per couple). We do this purely for the love of the music.
