Revived: Best of Panama 2022 Tasting
About this Event
Whether you want to travel in time, find out how a $1,288.50 coffee tastes, or just meet people who are wondering the same thing, come join us.
In 2022, six Geisha coffees placed at the Best of Panama auction, the biggest stage in specialty coffee. One of them, from Firestone, took 1st place in Washed Geisha. Scores ranged from 94 to 96 points. Prices ran as high as $1,288.50 a pound.
We froze all six lots as green coffee. They sat untouched until now.
The week before the event, we thaw and roast them. On August 14th, we brew every one on Chemex and V60, the two simplest, most approachable ways to make coffee. No machines, no jargon, no background required. You'll taste coffee most people never get access to.
Here's the question we're actually trying to answer together: after nearly four years frozen, do these coffees still hold up? Come find out.
What to expect:
Six coffees, poured and explained one at a time. Bring questions, bring curiosity, bring nothing at all. This is built for people who like drinking coffee, not people who already know how to score it.
