Reverse Quarter-Saunter 4-3-2-1 Countdown 3️⃣ Carl Schurz to Inwood

Our Reverse Quarter-Saunter Countdown continues, during which we walk the iconic Great Saunter route in reverse, over four days. Today, October 10, we walk from Carl Schurz Park to 207th Street/Inwood, about 8 miles. For the complete loop, join us October 6, 10, 13, and 17.

THREE/October 10: The segment from Carl Schurz Park to 207th Street/Inwood is the third quarter of the [May] Great Saunter route. We'll be walking at a moderate pace.

Meeting Place/Time: Meet Friday, October 10, 9:30 a.m., at Carl Schurz Park, 84th Street/East End Avenue. Closest subways are the Q (Second Avenue @ 86th Street and 4/5/6 (86th Street), plus the East River ferry at 90th Street. Please use the restrooms in Carl Schurz Park before we begin the walk. No lunch but we'll have a brief snack stop in Jackie Robinson Park, roughly midway. We'll finish in Inwood on Isham Street.

Bring: Water, snacks, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. We will walk rain or shine.

Return: The A (207th Street) is closest. The No. 1 (207th Street) is two blocks away on Tenth Avenue. Drop-out points along the way.

Registration is only $10, and Shorewalkers will donate all fees to the Carl Schurz Park Conservancy(https://www.carlschurzparknyc.org/), the dedicated caretakers of the park’s beautiful gardens and lawns. This walk will count for 8 miles of your total. You do not have to participate in the Fall Challenge to join the walk -- all members are welcome.
