Ah, yes. Friends. They come, they go. Someone who seems a permanent fixture vanishes overnight to a different locale and takes their songs with them. Rude.Hallowed halls (venues/places of gig) that were once imbued with the laughter and yarns of recurring energies make way for new variations of energies. Songs were sung in front of collections of people that hadn't yet realised it would be the first time and last time that song was sung in front of that exact collection of people. Ugh, it's giving me chills to even think about.
Fortunately, aeroplanes exist and friendship is forever! Old gang is back together again, with some fresh faces we've picked up along the way.
Perth's lost darling, Jack Gaby is flying from his new home to his old home and bringing a band. You oughta catch him live before he gets really, really famous. That way, you can tell whoever the hell you want about seeing Jack Gaby live, people will be impressed, everyone will love you, and you can thank us for throwing this event. (Jack Gaby did not approve this message; I'm just a fan.) If we're being serious, though, Jack Gaby's got the sauce. Come for indie/lofi/slacker.
New Nausea continues to bring goodness into Perth music. After five years, they've released a new single, 'Snow Globe', and it's deeply satisfying. Come for alt-folk/indie/post-punk.
Pool Boy (me, Beth, I'm writing this, the veil has been lifted) tried to pinpoint the last live performance she did and found the most recent in a blurry photo from September 2020. So, there you have it, this will be the first Pool Boy live performance in over five years. Like an old orphan sock you're certain you'll find the mate for, she just won't throw Pool Boy out. An album has been written, set for release when she gets around to it, but you can come hear most of the songs at this here gig. Come for experimental/outsider-pop/electro.
