In a world that pulls us in so many directions, returning to center can feel like a radical act.

Many of us are moving through life overstimulated, overextended, and quietly depleted. We push through full days, carry stress in the body, and forget what it feels like to truly relax. The mind keeps going. The nervous system stays activated. Rest begins to feel far away.

🎶 What You'll Experience:

Guided by Lynne Stukart, an award-winning musician, certified sound healing therapist, and Quad Cities native with over 25 years of experience, this 75-minute immersion moves through your body in ways that go deeper than words, deeper than thought, deeper than effort. Sound bypasses the thinking mind and allows for deep relaxation.

The evening begins with a brief mental health awareness presentation from The Gray Matters Collective, grounded in compassion and community care.

Then you'll be guided into a therapeutic sound experience as Lynne leads you through:

❤️ A reflection on balance, releasing what’s heavy, and welcoming a calmer state
🧡 Therapeutic sound with flutes, drums, gongs, singing bowls, and more
💛 Deep nervous-system support and emotional regulation
💚 Gentle support for emotional balance and mental wellbeing
💙 A peaceful sound immersion into restoration and inner calm
💜 You’ll leave feeling calmer, steadier, and more at ease than when you arrived.

💛 Why This Evening Matters:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental wellbeing deserves our attention, our compassion, and spaces where we can pause, breathe, and begin to restore.
This event is presented in collaboration with The Gray Matters Collective, a local nonprofit dedicated to strengthening community, reducing stigma, and empowering individuals to become mental health and suicide-prevention advocates. Mental wellbeing is not a luxury. It deserves more than a conversation. It deserves a space, a community, and a moment to exhale.

This restorative experience helps calm the nervous system, ease stress and anxiety, and bring the mind and body back into balance. It is a chance to step out of the noise and return to a steadier inner rhythm.

🌿 Return calmer.

🌿 Return grounded.

🌿 Return to center.

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where participants are "bathed" in sound waves produced by various healing instruments. These instruments often include singing bowls (Tibetan &/or crystal), gongs, tuning forks, chimes, drums, flutes, and other sonic tools that produce calming sounds. The goal of a sound bath is to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and restore balance to the mind and body through the power of sound.

During a sound bath, participants usually lie down comfortably or in a seated position, often with their eyes closed, while the practitioner plays the instruments in a specific sequence. The sounds and vibrations help guide the listener into a deep meditative state, where they can experience reduced mental chatter, emotional release, and physical relaxation. A sound bath can also align and balance the energy centers in the body (also called chakras).

Some key benefits of sound baths include:

  • Stress relief: The calming sounds help to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure, easing tension.
  • Pain relief: Participants report experiencing less physical pain during and after a sound bath.
  • Deep relaxation: The vibrations help quiet the mind, promoting a state of deep relaxation, similar to meditation.
  • Balance and healing: Sound frequencies are thought to work on the body's energy field, aligning the chakras and promoting healing.
  • Improved sleep: Many participants find that sound baths help improve the quality of their sleep by calming the nervous system.

Many participants report feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded after a sound bath. The soothing vibrations can help ease anxiety, reduce physical pain, and quiet the mind—inviting the nervous system into a deep state of rest and repair. Sound baths may also improve sleep, uplift mood, and bring a renewed sense of clarity, peace, and well-being.

It’s a very gentle and non-invasive form of therapy, making it accessible to people of all ages and health conditions. A sound bath can be a wonderful tool for anyone looking to unwind, meditate, or enhance their well-being through sound. It's also a great way to elevate your consciousness!

What should I bring to a Sound Bath?

It's recommended to bring a few essentials to ensure you're comfortable and fully immersed in the experience. Here are some ideas: a yoga mat, cushion, or blanket to lie on comfortably, a zero gravity folding chair, a pillow or cushion for your head and neck support, an eye mask, a water bottle, personal items like crystals, and an open heart and mind.
