About this Event
🌿 Return Home to You
A 7-week somatics & group coaching journey for neurodivergent bodies and brains

What if you didn't need to fix yourself?

What if you could develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself instead?

Return Home to You is a seven-session somatics and group coaching journey for neurodivergent adults. Together we'll explore our bodies, brains, nervous systems, patterns, needs and ways of being in the world.

We're not trying to become a better, more productive or permanently regulated version of ourselves.

We're not trying to achieve something.

We're exploring what happens when we begin to let go of some of the things we've been told we should be — by family, friends, society, work, relationships and the world around us — and create space to discover what feels true for us.

🤎 Compassion before change

We'll begin with self-compassionate inquiry.

Instead of immediately asking “How do I fix this?”, we'll practise asking:

What's happening for me?
What am I noticing?
What might I need?
Can I stay with myself while this is happening?

We can't — and don't need to — be regulated all the time. Regulation is a resource, not the destination.

We'll explore how to notice nervous-system states, develop resources and gradually build our capacity to stay with discomfort, difficult sensations and big feelings without judging, fixing or overriding ourselves.

Sometimes staying is right.

Sometimes stepping back is right.

Sometimes the most compassionate thing is to rest.

Learning to listen to what our bodies need is part of the practice.

🌿 Rest, embodiment & self-relationship

We'll use a range of somatic tools to help us connect with our bodies rather than living only through our thinking minds.

These may include:

  • somatic meditation
  • breathwork
  • restorative yoga
  • dynamic movement, shaking, dance and Qi Gong-inspired practices
  • body mapping and somagrams
  • self-touch and bilateral tapping
  • exploring internal and external resources
  • psychoeducation about the body-mind and nervous system
  • group coaching and reflection

The tools aren't things you have to master. They're opportunities to notice, experiment and discover what works for you.

🧠 For neurodivergent bodies & brains

Neurodivergent people can experience sensory processing, interoception, energy, overwhelm and nervous-system states differently. We'll explore different ways of understanding and experiencing our own body-minds, without treating those differences as something that needs to be fixed.

Co-occurring physical conditions are welcome too. You don't need to be bendy, fit, pain-free or have lots of energy or capacity.

Chronic pain, chronic fatigue, hypermobility and other physical limitations are welcome here. This isn't a pain-management course, but practices can always be adapted, modified or replaced according to what your body needs.

You can sit, rest, move less, move differently, pause or simply observe.

You don't have to have more capacity to belong here.

🤎 Come exactly as you are

You don't need to know what you need.

You don't need to be good at feeling your body.

You don't need to be well.

You don't need to achieve anything.

You just need to show up as you are.

We're not trying to fix ourselves.

We're learning to listen.

We're learning to rest.

We're learning to stay when we can, step back when we need to, and meet ourselves with compassion either way.

We're not trying to become someone new.
We're creating the space to meet who we already are.
