One room. One shared mission. Accessing large-scale private finance is now the critical enabler for retrofit at scale. Grants have helped start the journey – but if we want to go further, faster, and cheaper, we need more sustainable approaches.

Join us for our June Retrofit Society 2.0 quarterly meeting with a focus on Retrofit in Action.

With a renewed focused on finance, this forum is designed to break siloes and make your ambitious projects happen. We’ll explore practical, scalable finance models, demystify risks, and share real-world solutions that unlock retrofit ambitions and deliver healthier, more sustainable homes.

Expect thought-provoking discussion, expert insights, and peer learning, all wrapped into a dynamic, one-day in-person session.

  • Cut through the jargon and complexity of retrofit finance
  • Hear from experts in the industry and key players in energy and finance including the Green Finance Institute, Risehem, Energiesprong, and Metis

Agenda Retrofit Society 2.0

10:30am - 11:15am Arrival and Networking

11:15am - 11:30am: Making Retrofit Aspirational

For retrofit to happen at scale, it needs to capture hearts as well as minds. This quarter’s 24-hour event focuses on how organisations are reshaping the story, positioning retrofit as aspirational for residents. Our host, Jenny Danson, will open the day, welcome members, and set the scene for this quarter’s sessions.

11:30am - 12:30pm: Large Scale Retrofit: Delivering Financial Rewards for Residents on Day One

12:30pm - 13:15pm - Lunch

13.15pm 14.05pm - Unlocking Energy Freedom for Landlords and Residents

By 2030, the UK could have a cleaner, cheaper, and smarter energy system - one that makes positive action easy and accessible for everyone. Solar panels, batteries, and virtual power plant models will play a central role in this transformation, automating the monetisation of grid flexibility services for residents. In this session, we’ll hear from [speaker name] on how these technologies can de-risk projects, unlock new revenue streams, and deliver long-term energy independence.

14.05pm – 14.20pm Break

14.20pm - 15:20pm Keeping Cool in Summer and Warm in Winter

In 2022, England recorded over 2,950 heat-related deaths - the highest on record - while 2024 saw four official heatwaves. Overheating is now the “new norm”, creating a major challenge for housing providers: how to ensure homes are warm in winter, cool in summer, and affordable year-round. I

15:20pm 15:35pm - break

15:35pm 16.25pm - Nurturing Collaboration for Retrofit at Scale

The technical and financial solutions for large-scale retrofit already exist. Yet too often, projects fail because partners are unable to align around a shared purpose. Real progress depends on a cultural shift - across both landlords and the supply chain - towards genuine collaboration and trust. In this session, our speakers will explore the frameworks that make this possible, helping project teams navigate complexity, align incentives, and build the cooperative mindset needed.

16:25pm - 16:45pm Turning Ambition into Action

Ambitious retrofits are vital to delivering the meaningful environmental, social, and financial outcomes residents and landlords need to thrive. Led by Jenny Danson, this roundtable will explore how to use learnings from today to gain buy-in for your own initiatives and what you need to go further.

16:45 – 18:30 Drinks & Nibbles

Attendance is FREE as part of Healthy Homes Hub membership.
