is Ottawa’s newest hard-rocking heavy-funk outfit, paying appreciative tribute to the groundbreaking music of Funkadelic. The HARDCORE JOLLIES collective - assembled by guitarist Wayne Eagles - showcases the raw energy of Funkadelic’s iconic sound renowned for its ability to straddle the line between pure funk and psychedelia. Picking up from where James Brown started and Jimi Hendrix left off, Funkadelic created a new sound, image and dialogue in popular music. From their earliest experimental days to their latter more guitar-driven years, HARDCORE JOLLIES brings to the stage the absolute best of the legendary Funkadelic. Leah Mac & The Throwback is an Ottawa-based, 5-piece cover outfit that rocks a wide range of tunes from a multitude of genres that stretch across the popular music zeitgeist! Fronted by Leah MacQuarrie, a seasoned singer and talented songwriter, The Throwback is co-founded by drummer Justine Walker, and features Ethan Ryan on guitar, Andrew Knox on keyboards, and Keith MacGougan on bass. Leah Mac & The Throwback delivers a mix of all your retro funk favourites as well as some dance-worthy deep cuts through their creatively curated sets that are sure to make your body rock, make you want to sing at the top of your lungs, and party the night away.
