Die Hard is a high-octane action thriller starring Bruce Willis as NYPD officer John McClane, who travels to Los Angeles on Christmas Eve to reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly, at her office holiday party in the Nakatomi Plaza skyscraper. The celebration is violently interrupted when a group of heavily armed terrorists, led by the cold and calculating Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), seizes the building and takes the guests hostage. Caught inside and separated from the hostages, McClane goes rogue, using his wits, grit, and street-smart tactics to outmaneuver the terrorists one by one. As the LAPD and FBI fumble outside, McClane becomes the reluctant lone hero fighting to save the hostages—including his wife—and stop the criminals’ true plan: a high-stakes heist masked as terrorism.
