Mitch Preston has hung up his APS spurs and swapped mind-numbing meetings and spreadsheets for sleeping in, losing track of the days of the week and heaps more gigs.
Come to Smith's Alternative on Sunday 21 July to help Mitch celebrate his new-found retiree status. His musician friends are encouraged to bring guitars, basses, voices, saxomaphones, keyboards, drumsticks etc. to jam accordingly. The Smith's PA, backline kit and amps will be available for use (picky [pun intended] guitarists may want to bring their 'special' amps). There will be no cover charge, but attendees will be frequently encouraged to keep the bar busy and to sample the splendid comestibles available. Drummers must be accompanied by an adult.
STOP PRESS: Please bring a little cash (gold coins or notes of your choosing) as a donation hat/jar/sock (TBC) will be extant at the bash. All monies raised will go to the campaign to save the Golden-shouldered parrot, a critically endangered species resident in Cape York, way up in FNQ. Let's see if we can whip up some Pacific pesos to donate to such an essential cause.
