Invasive species are a growing threat to ecosystems worldwide, outcompeting native plants and disrupting biodiversity. But what if we need to rethink our approach? Join us for a thought-provoking session with Mark Weathington, Director of the JC Raulston Arboretum, author, and lecturer, as he challenges common perceptions of invasive species in his talk, Rethinking the Invasive Conundrum.In this eye-opening presentation, Mark will guide us beyond the symptoms to explore the real causes of invasive species in natural areas. He’ll dive into the science behind exotics, debunk common myths and bad science, and propose real-world solutions to combat the threat of invasive plants. If you’re passionate about conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable gardening, this talk is a must!
