About this Event
Of course we all want our books for children, especially nonfiction, to be as truthful as possible. But what if there were something better than the truth, something better than giving children a set of perfect data to help them learn? Dr Sanders is the author of the first book theorising nonfiction for children, and in this talk he will sketch out his original proposal for a better children’s nonfiction as well as how his thoughts have changed since he wrote his book.
Joe Sutliff Sanders is a specialist in children’s media in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. He has published seven books and more than 30 articles and subjects from children’s nonfiction to classic stories for girls to Batman.
The talk will begin at 7pm; please arrive in advance to allow for a prompt start. Drinks can be purchased from the Sage café or the Folio Bar prior to the event.
