In light of the disasters that harshly impacted Southeast Asia in late 2025, this event will discuss disaster management in Southeast AsiaAbout this Event
Despite the lengthy agreements on disaster management among ASEAN member states, recent disasters that harshly affected Viet Nam, Philippine, Thailand and Indonesia proved a disconnect between the document and the realities on the ground.
The damaged landscape calls for a need for a stronger HADR but more importantly regulation to mitigate such disasters. Infrastructure to keep cities more resistant to natural calamities and regulations to prevent extreme climates are missing in these documents and conversations as well.
