RETFORD HERITAGE OPEN DAYRetford Civic Society is proud to announce that once again we are organising Retford Heritage Open Day on Saturday 13th September. Many of our historic buildings will be open, with tours, talks and exhibitions to be enjoyed. Some buildings which are not usually publicly open in Retford will be welcoming visitors, including Trinity Hospital, Retford Masonic Hall, the Majestic Theatre and some properties recently built by the Sloswicke’s Almhouses charity. The day runs from 10am until 4pm.
This is part of the national Heritage Open Days festival when buildings are freely open nationwide. The national theme for this year is ARCHITECTURE which is very relevant to Retford as we have so many fine historic buildings.
Full information about buildings open will be available from our information stall in Carolgate on 6th September, and also from Retford Library, the Museum and the Arts Hub. We will have an information point outside Bassetlaw Museum on Saturday 13th September. Watch out for regular updates on the Retford Heritage Open Day Facebook page.
