Restoring the Good Mind: Healing Conflict, Strengthening Community
Join the Good Mind Initiative for a one-day community workshop focused on building healthier relationships, navigating conflict, strengthening communication, and creating space for healing within our families and communities.
This gathering will explore how we can move beyond stigma, better understand the ways we communicate our emotions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and learn practical ways to address conflict without causing further harm.
Throughout the afternoon, participants will have opportunities to learn, reflect,participate in discussion, and connect with one another.
What we'll explore
- Addressing and reducting stigma
- Understanding conflict and how we respond to it
- Recognizing different forms of emotional comunication
- Developing healthy coping mechanisms
- Strengthening relationships within families and communities
- Accountability, communication, and repairing harm
- The importance of telling our stories
- Culture, Connection, and community as sources of healing
A facilitated talking circle will provide participants with an opportunity to listen, reclect, and share from their own experiences.
We will close our gathering with a cultural presentation led by the Good Mind Intiative highlighting the ways culture can strengthen identity, connection, belonging, and healing. Culture reminds us that healing does not happen only as individuals- it also happens through our relationships with family, community, and one another.
Anybody traveling over 60 miles to attend will be reimbursed for their mileage after the workshop.
