We need your voice! Please join us for Public Comment to address the Social Studies Standards.
A new law passed in 2019 requires that Colorado’s Social Studies Standards include the histories and
contributions of minoritized Coloradans:
● House Bill 19-1192
● Standards Revision Process
2. A revision committee convened and made strong revisions to the standards in line with HB19-1192:

3. As part of the National Conflict Campaign in Education, local far right wing groups targeted the revised
standards. As a result:
● In April, mentions of LGBTQ people were removed before 4th grade. [Article]
● In May, most specific mentions of minoritized groups were replaced with generic language.
Mentions of equity and gender identity, and nearly all mentions of race and racism have also
