Restore and Sound Bath: A Dimitra Yoga Event

Restore — When your life is racing full-speed ahead so is your mind. Restorative yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent stress and anxiety. With the assistance of props (bolsters blocks blankets) we will hold supported passive postures for a few minutes each using no muscular effort.

Sound — By adding a sound bath to our restorative class we are amplifying the benefits including reduced stress and anxiety improved sleep and increased focus and clarity. And emerging research suggests sound therapy may lower stress hormones improve mood and reduce pain.

*Sound Bath Disclaimer: Sound baths are generally safe and healing for most but if you're pregnant have hearing aids epilepsy heart conditions migraines psychiatric disorders are sensitive to sound or use devices like pacemakers insulin pumps or metal implants it's best to consult your doctor beforehand. Reactions to sound baths are individual and can bring up strong physical emotional or mental releases and responses. The sound vibrations may increase blood flow and guide you into a deeply relaxed state potentially altering your state of consciousness. It's normal to feel deeply relaxed fall asleep or even feel lightheaded. If you feel uncomfortable at any point please take a break. Remember to drink plenty of water afterward to help your body detox and take your time transitioning out of the session. We're here to support you and ensure you feel comfortable and at ease.
