Course Description:
Restorative yoga is a gentle, supportive practice that invites the body to relax, rebalance, and rejuvenate. Using long-held, fully supported postures, this practice may help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and cultivate a sense of spacious ease. By making rest accessible and intentional, restorative yoga supports flexibility, emotional steadiness, and deep inner nourishment.
In this Restorative Yoga certification, you will be provided with the tools to safely and effectively create restorative yoga sequences that support a wide variety of students. You’ll learn how to set up restorative postures with clarity, how to use props to create comfort and stability, and how to adapt your teaching to meet different physical and emotional needs. These concepts will help you build confidence in guiding restorative classes in an inclusive and nurturing setting.
In this weekend experience:
- Anatomy and the physiology of rest
- Transforming classic floor-based asanas into restorative shapes
- Restorative principles: pacing, stillness, timing, and breath
- Inclusive and supportive language
- Teaching restorative postures with clarity and presence
- Restorative sequencing, thematic approaches, and practicum
- Skillful prop support using bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, walls, and chairs
