Join Nikke & Emily at People’s Yoga for another fundraising event for Gaza!!
About this Event

Come together in community for a restorative selfcare practice while supporting this incredibly important social justice movement!! All proceeds will be donated to a Mutual Aid Fund for people in Gaza.

For this event Emily will be leading a Restorative Yoga practice while Nikke serenades you with the grounding, soothing sounds of her Ocean Drum, and the ethereal healing frequencies of her Quartz Crystal singing bowls, and Koshi Chimes.

Emily will begin the session with a grounding meditation, followed by some gentle warming movements before transitioning to long held, deeply relaxing, restorative Yoga poses. We will offer you a variety of ways to use your yoga props to fully support your body so that your nervous system will feel safe enough to fully relax and let go.

This restorative practice will help you to quiet your mind and release any energetic blockages you may be holding onto. The sound bath will assist in bringing you into a deeper, meditative healing state, balance your chakras and help your Qi (chi) energy to flow more smoothly.

Our world tends to have us stuck in the “fight or flight” sympathetic nervous system response which can cause a multitude of health issues. Through practices like Restorative Yoga and Sound Healing, we can turn off the hypervigilant stress response, allowing for the soothing, calming parasympathetic nervous system to work its magic of deep, cellular, and energetic healing.

It is so important to take time to nurture yourself so that you can participate more fully in the rest of your life. Give your body this time to truly rest and recover. Calm the stress response so that your body can put its energy toward the important work of healing, repairing, and restoring all your organs and tissues.

So much love and gratitude to the People’s Yoga for donating their beautiful Hawthorne studio space for this event.

We will be able to accommodate a much larger group this time, so we are hoping to get at least 20 people signed up ?!! If you are unable to attend but would still like to donate to the Gaza Mutual Aid Fund, please message us and we will send you a link. Please share this event far and wide so we can get as many people to donate as possible!!

There won't be any active breathwork this time, so it will be mask-friendly if that is your preference, but masking is optional. We want you to be comfortable, we just ask that you be mindful to take care of both yourself and also other potentially vulnerable community members by staying home if you are ill. Please contact us if you do get sick or have another emergency and we can refund you or credit you for another event depending on specific circumstances. We hope you can make it out for this amazing evening!

And as alway, if you are struggling financially and especially if you are BIPOC, LGBTQ, and/or have been on the front lines, organizing protests and direct actions for Palestinian liberation etc., we welcome you to contact us for scholarships. This is about our local community care and community connection as well as supporting communities in Gaza. We welcome all of you with open arms!

Sending you all so much love and gratitude ??!!

Emily Paben (she/her) Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Yoga Continuing Education Provider, Master Reiki Practitioner and Certified Sound Healer.

Emily's Restorative Yoga classes and events begin with a grounding meditation, followed by some gentle warming movements before transitioning to deeply relaxing restorative poses. Restorative poses are usually held for at least 5 minutes but can be held to up to 30 minutes depending on the particular pose. In Restorative classes, we use many yoga props in ways that fully support the body so that the nervous system feels safe enough to fully relax and let go, allowing the body to deeply heal. This practice helps to quiet the mind and release any energetic blockages we have been holding.
