An immersion into the somatic landscapes of Psychedelic Cannabis, Sacred Sound and Feldenkrais Gentle Movement
About this Event

THE INVITATION

On October 2nd, join us for a small group ceremony facilitated by our trauma informed psychedelic guides.

Taking our cues from the wisdom of the Earth, we prepare our bodies for the shifting of the seasons by slowing down, getting curious, and tuning in to our internal landscapes.

This natural time of rest and review supports our bodies and minds in releasing what we no longer need to be holding on to so tightly - making space to receive new layers of insight, wisdom, awareness and deep relaxation.

What fruits, blessings and opportunities for yourself have you created and enjoyed this year? What are you prepared to release and let die with the leaves, surrendering over to the winds of change? What new kinds of understanding, creativity and joy are waiting to be received - just on the other side of slowing down?

Through the gentle, mindful movement of the Feldenkrais Method® we will generate new opportunities for our bodies to move with more ease, flow and pleasure. This sets us up to receive the loving guidance of the spirit of Cannabis. Cannabis Medicine works on all levels of our being - body, mind and spirit. She is gentle yet powerful, wise yet playful, and always willing to meet us where we are at and guide us to our own innate knowings. Whether you have a lifetime of experience or are brand new to working with cannabis, you will be met and held in new and powerful ways. Like Cannabis, Sound Therapy touches us at all levels - working with our mind-body, our physical-body and our energy-body by speaking the language of frequency and vibration. Sound medicine potentiates states of deep relaxation and has a way of moving long held blockages in the body. Combining cannabis and sound medicines alchemizes an amplification of both the somatic as well as the visionary nature of each of these ancient and powerful allies.

By acknowledging and honouring our body’s innate wisdom and need for rest and release, we honour ourselves, each other, as well as our familial, communal and global ecosystems we are all a part of. This is what healing looks like.

DESCRIPTIONS

ON WORKING WITH SOUND

Among the many benefits of Sound Therapy, research has shown that it can lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety and engage the parasympathetic nervous system, initiating calm and peace. These blissful sounds, deep musical tones and nurturing vibrations invite the journeyer to enter meditative states which allow the brain to release natural opiates, reducing pain and inflammation. Feeling enveloped in a somatic wash of sounds can bring harmony to all levels of your being. During a psychedelic cannabis sound meditation, the brain regions governing memory formation and visual processing are stimulated and facilitates visions and autobiographical memories. Welcoming the experience of synesthesia, some mention the ability to see sounds as shapes, landscapes and beings or feel sounds as energy in the body. These dreamlike and mystical states open the potential for messages from Self and source energy.

Shannon is a sound alchemist, facilitating resonant spaces held gently and safely to support deep healing states in the human energy field. Merging traditional shamanic instruments; rattles, drums and Tibetan bowls, and futuristic frequencies such as chimes and crystal bowls, Shannon sings and tones with her multi-octive voice, channeling energy and harmonies into sacred geometries of sound.

“Sound is the force of creation, the true whole. Music then, becomes the voice of the great cosmic oneness and therefore the optimal way to reach this final state of healing.” - Hazrat Inayat Khan

ON WORKING WITH CANNABIS

“Over the course of human cultures since the beginning of recorded history, marijuana has been recognized and revered, and periodically suppressed and disrespected… Marijuana was considered a gift of the gods to help human life toward ever-greater understanding. Just as it worked 5000 years ago, this ancient medicine for the body, mind and spirit is working today and is being rediscovered by health care providers and patients alike… The marijuana experience itself does not miraculously cure. Instead it allows the body a respite from the tensions of imbalance, while exposing the mental confusion of the mind… With the expansiveness that occurs with marijuana, the subject may begin to notice infinite possibilities to raise the quality of his/her [their] life that would otherwise have remained hidden from normal, defensive consciousness. And feelings of health and happiness naturally lead to hope, which itself can be curative.”

- Joan Bello, from “The Benefits of Marijuana: Physical, Psychological and Spiritual’
