The research is clear, up to 90% of all musicians will experience playing related pain or injury during the course of their careers. Many get stuck in the cycle of doctors who don't understand, unrelenting playing demands and worsening problems so they quit, thinking there's no hope. After 4 playing related injuries and being told to "just stop playing" or even "well can you switch instruments?" she knew there had to be a better answer for musicians seeking help in playing related injuries. In this interactive workshop, Musician Fitness Specialist, Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist Angela McCuiston will explain the statistics and causes leaded to injury, increase your body awareness and then lead you through corrective workout routines designed to prevent injury and increase strength and endurance in the muscles where you need it most. Rest is not rehab and hope is not a strategy -come learn what you need to do to stay mobile, strong and pain free the rest of your playing career, as long as YOU want it to be!
