About this Event

Rest & Reset is more than a yoga class—it’s a sanctuary for slowing down, softening tension, and reconnecting to your vitality.

If you're experiencing stiffness, fatigue, brain fog, aches, or shifts in weight and energy, this class offers a compassionate alternative to pushing or powering through. Rooted in the timeless wisdom of yoga, Rest & Reset invites you to meet this season with ease, curiosity, and care.

Each session begins with gentle breath awareness and a short, guided meditation to calm the nervous system and clear mental clutter. From there, we move into slow, supported postures designed to release joint stiffness, soothe tired muscles, and improve circulation. Bolsters, blankets, and chairs are thoughtfully used so every body feels supported, safe, and at ease.

The practice concludes with Yoga Nidra, often called yogic sleep—a deeply restorative guided rest that allows the body to replenish energy while the mind settles into spacious clarity. Through layers of stillness, mindful movement, and deep rest, stress melts away and the body remembers how to restore itself.




Meet Your Teacher: Dawn Heywood

Dawn Heywood is a heart centered yoga teacher. Dawn empowers her students to use breath and movement to increase flexibility and mobility, reduce pain, and sleep better. Dawn is changing lives 60 seconds at a time.


Dawn has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 2017. She is certified in Yin Yoga and Somatic Flexibility Technique from Sadie Nardini and her Master Trainer, Karin; Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga Yin Yoga and Adaptive Yoga from My Vinyasa Practice and LifePower Yoga through Lifetime Fitness.


All her life Dawn struggled with managing her stress and intense emotions. Then, in midlife her anxiety increased, she experienced disrupted sleep and unexplained pain and aches. After she incorporated yogic breathing, meditation, movement and lifestyle techniques into her daily routine, her overall quality of life changed for the better. Dawn was less likely to snap at her family and began to notice when situations started to stress her out. She is sleeping more soundly and experiencing less pain.


Dawn's courses and private classes incorporate all aspects of yoga philosophy, history and intentional movement and breath. Dawn's mission is to provide you a welcoming place to explore and practice yoga techniques that can reduce pain, improve flexibility, calm anxious thoughts, and improve sleep.
