Rest & Reset: A Sleep and Deep Rest Workshop
About this Event
Feel exhausted, but still find it difficult to rest?
Your body may feel tired while your mind keeps planning, replaying conversations or worrying about whether you will sleep.
The harder you try to settle down, the more awake and frustrated you may feel.
Rest & Reset is a small, two-hour evening workshop in Burnaby combining:
• An immersive sound bath
• Accessible sleep education
• Practical strategies for quieting a busy mind
Led by Registered Social Workers Sarah DiFederico and Tony Ho, this workshop will help you better understand the connection between stress, rest and sleep.
This is not another long list of sleep hygiene rules.
You will leave with a simple, personalized Rest & Reset plan based on your own needs and patterns.
What you will experience
Sarah will guide you through body-based, present-moment practices and an immersive restorative sound bath.
Tony will explain:
• How stress can affect sleep
• Why the mind may become more active at bedtime
• Why trying harder to sleep can sometimes make sleep feel more difficult
Together, you will explore practical strategies for:
• Settling an activated or restless body
• Responding differently to racing thoughts
• Reducing worry and pressure around sleep
• Shifting out of work or caregiving mode
• Stepping out of the struggle with a difficult night
• Recognizing when additional sleep support may be helpful
This is not about forcing yourself to relax or achieving a particular state. You are welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
This workshop may be helpful if:
• You often feel wired but tired
• Your mind becomes more active at bedtime
• You have difficulty shifting out of work or caregiving mode

The evening will include:

• Optional aromatherapy
• Clear, accessible education about sleep and stress
