RESONANCE – A RECYCLING CONCERTO

Celebrating 75 Years of Germany–Canada Diplomatic Relations
What does it sound like when everyday objects become instruments? Resonance invites you to find out: an evening of music for the 75th anniversary of Germany–Canada diplomatic relations, with German percussionist Leon Lorenz as special guest of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.
For seventy-five years, Germany and Canada have built a partnership on trust, shared values, and deep friendship. That bond lives in cultural exchange, in common endeavours, and in the many personal ties that connect our two countries. This evening celebrates it - in the most universal language there is.
At its heart is Mayrhofer’s Recycling Concerto, a work that treats recycling as an artistic statement. Alexina Louie’s Music for a Celebration opens the evening.
The concert brings together music, creativity, and sustainability, and asks what we owe the world we share, a question that finds a fitting home in the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. It also looks ahead: to a future of Germany–Canada relations built on cultural exchange, innovation, and shared responsibility.
Everyone is warmly invited. Tickets are free. Registration is required. A reception in Buhler Hall follows the concert.
