Resolution 88 make their debut at Jazz Mix to perform their 4th studio album, ‘Vortex’. The new record is heavily inspired by the Mizell Brother’s productions of the 70’s as well as Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters. They will perform the new record and favourites from their back catalogue. Copies of the new record will be available directly from the band at this gig so don’t miss it!Resolution 88 fuse the sound of the modern London jazz scene with the inspirational greats of the 70’s such as Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters and the classic Mizell Brothers productions. They have brought their high energy performances to prestigious venues and festivals around the UK and Europe.
‘Vortex’ is the 4th studio album released by Resolution 88 and with live shows supporting Snarky Puppy, Roy Ayers, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Larry Mizell & the Blackbyrds, Butcher Brown, the Yellowjackets and many more, Resolution
88 have established themselves as one of the UK’s leading exponents of funk jazz. Their music is synonymous with the beautiful sound of the Fender Rhodes.
Resolution 88 are Tom O'Grady on Rhodes & synths, Tiago Coimbra on bass, Ric Elsworth on drums, Oli Blake on percussion and Tom Smith on saxophone.
