What is it about?
This event aims to explore the intersection between long-term physical health conditions – such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia and endometriosis and women’s mental health. Speakers will include Lisa-Marie Walsh and Robyn Murray, Co-Directors of ‘Her Voice Project’, a clinician with expertise on psychological perspectives on enduring physical health conditions, and a speaker from a national support and information service.
Who is it for?
This event is aimed at health and mental health professionals, and students, women with lived experience of mental health difficulties and long-term physical health conditions, advocacy groups and anyone interested in women's mental health-related topics. Speakers will present on psychological perspectives, daily living challenges and strategies to manage those along with mental health and wellbeing supports.
The overall aim of this event is to increase and improve awareness and understanding of mental health implications for, and related needs of, women experiencing long-term physical health conditions, while also highlighting the resilience and strength required to navigate these experiences.
