Join Wildflower Center for Perinatal and Family Mental Health’s Manager, Gabrielle Pendly, LCSW, CADC, PMH-C for an in-depth training focused on working with individuals living in and recovering from domestic violence situations. This comprehensive training will delve into the foundational concepts related to intimate partner violence (IPV), encompassing the psychological, emotional, and physical dimensions of abuse. Participants will gain insights into the relevant legal aspects surrounding IPV, including protective orders, custody issues, and the legal rights of survivors.
The training will address various types of domestic violence, with a specific emphasis on intimate partner violence (IPV). Special attention will be given to understanding the complexities and unique challenges faced by the perinatal population. This includes discussing the impact of IPV on pregnant individuals and new parents, the intersection of IPV and perinatal mental health, and strategies for providing sensitive and effective support during this critical period.
Throughout the session, treatment implications and approaches will be explored, equipping therapists with practical tools and techniques to support their clients effectively. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions and case examples to discuss with Gabby and the team, fostering an interactive and collaborative learning environment.
1.5 continuing education credits are offered upon completion for the following license types: LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW, Clinical Psychology, LMFT. This training will count toward 1.5 of the advanced hours needed for clinicians working to obtain their PMH-C through Postpartum Support International.
