Discover the next generation of great conductors — experience the Svetlanov Competition live in Birmingham.
All the passionate music lovers are welcome to attend one of the major classical music events and enjoy a battle of young conductors.
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will follow each competitor’s gesture, bringing their musical vision to life.
The Competition unfolds in three rounds:
3–4 September – Preliminary Round (closed session) at the CBSO Centre – 18 candidates selected;
5 September – Semi-Finals (public session) at Symphony Hall – 8 semi-finalists;
6 September – Finals (public session) at Symphony Hall – 4 finalists
Each performance reveals a distinct artistic voice and musical vision through a carefully chosen symphonic repertoire. At the end of the Finals, the audience of the Symphony Hall will vote for the Audience Prize.
More than a competition, this is a celebration of Music-making, Talent, and shared experience.
