About this Event
Join us on May 10th at 7:30pm as Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, presents “Researching your Roots at the Office of the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Office.”
The program will provide an overview the types of documents that are recorded with the Recorder of Deeds office and go through how to search the database for current and historical deeds on your property. These records date back to 1784 and are mostly public record. Historical deed research, and through other documents the Recorder of Deeds stores in perpetuity, can be a useful tool in learning more about your home and potentially family history.
Lectures are FREE and open to the public both In-person in The John Barnes Room at Abington Friends Meeting and on Zoom. Login details will be posted day of the event.
A short business meeting will proceed this lecture. The lecture series is sponsored by a grant from the Jenkinstown Lyceum. For more information, please call the Old York Road Historical Society at 215-886-8590.
