Researchers from the University of Bristol have spent weeks sharpening their ideas, refining their pitches, and preparing to take their work beyond the lab, now it’s time to hear what they’ve been building.

First Pitch Showcase is an afternoon featuring researchers turning breakthrough ideas into real world opportunities that could shape the future of health, technology, sustainability, and beyond. This is where Bristol’s next generation of founders make their case, and where future collaborators, supporters, and investors get in early.

On the day, pitches will be judged by a panel of industry experts, and the audience will also decide the winners through a people’s choice vote. Whether you're here to support, connect, collaborate or invest, this is your chance to see what’s next.

The afternoon will feature short pitches from our shortlisted finalists, insights from an expert panel, valuable networking opportunities, along with food and drinks.

2:00 – 2:30 PM – Doors open

2:30 – 2:40 PM – Welcome and Introductions

2:40 – 2:50 PM – Keynote speech

2:50 – 3:50 PM – Pitching competition

4:00 – 4:30 PM – Audience voting and networking

4:30 – 4:40 PM – Winner announced

4:40 – 5:30 PM – Networking and event close

First Pitch Showcase is delivered by SETsquared Bristol in collaboration with the University of Bristol’s Research Commercialisation team. Research to Reward, the programme behind the pitches, is open to female early to mid-career researchers, with the aim of making entrepreneurship and innovation more diverse and equitable.
