Childhood cancer parents know more than anyone just how badly we need more research - we need to find gentler treatments, and we need to find cures. LoveOliver is passionate about furthering research, and since 2011 has been funding posts and projects at Newcastle University - 2 x 4 year PhD students, a one off £20 000 grant towards a specific project, a full time technician for the last three years, and a 3 year £100 000 project in collaboration with GKCCT.
We have visited our team at Newcastle University on several occasions now, and always come away feeling really inspired and informed about the progress they are making.
We would love to give other parents the chance to ask their questions and find out more - therefore, on 29th May the team from Newcastle are coming to visit us at the Hub, and we are having a question and answer session for oncology parents from 3pm - 4.30pm.
Please let us know if you would like to attend. Children can use the playroom and teen room during the session.
You are welcome to submit your questions beforehand or to ask them yourself on the day.
