About this Event

Part of the 2024 CETI Enchanted Technology Festival

Mon Aug , 2024. 12:30pm -- 2:00pm.

Join CETI for our first Research Design session for community science/participatory research projects. We will collaboratively design urban data “walks”—a series of community-based participatory data gathering, analysis, and storytelling around environmental research, climate strategy and health impacts for education.

Goals: We’ll decide what kinds of data we want, what existing datasets we’d like to tell stories with, discuss what tools we have and need (sensors, devices, etc.). Develop preliminary designs and research protocols for a few datawalks (including routes, dates, sound walks as well as post walk/creation measurements in lab.

Through these datawalks and storytelling, we will build fluency and expertise in a diverse community to use the powerful tools of data analytics and interpretation to tell their own stories, create their own innovative tools, and advocate for resources and policies around environmental justice and community health.

Please invite any interested researchers, technologists, data scientists, AI creators, storytellers, policymakers, community health STEAM educators,
