About the Requiem and composer:
Little Lamb Requiem, a moving three act musical production with singing, narration, dance and mime is entertainment at its best. It revisits the 1955 kidnapping and brutal murder of a fourteen-year-old African American boy in Money, Mississippi – Emmett Louis Till.
Composer, H. Michael Dryver, uses his God given musical genius in creating each movement of this choral and orchestral masterpiece. One will appreciate the solemnity of the Mass movements in Latin and enjoy the fascinating and complex rhythms of contemporary gospel music. With the inclusion of arrangements of Negro Spirituals, a traditional gospel piece, and a jazz movement, this work illumines a portion of the African American musical legacy to the world.

Audition for the Premier Performance of Requiem of a Little Lamb "The Life and Death of Emmett Louis Till "
Performance Date: Friday August 2, 2024, in Chicago
Open Roles: Choir, Soloist, Orchestra, Jazz Band & Narrators
Audition Details:
1. Remote Audition via Video for Soloist, instrumentalists, narrators, and choir participants
2. Audition Materials: To receive the audition materials, please send a $50 donation via Zelle to (402) 813-4563 and include your name and that you are sending the money to receive the Requiem audition materials (the "donation" is to defray project expenses)
a. After payment, you will receive a receipt from the Composer, Michael Dryver, along with sheet-music, narratives, mp3 audio learning parts, vocal parts, backing soundtracks
b. All participants must complete the "Remote Audition Form"
Video Submission Information
1. Deadline: September 15, 2023
2. Method: Email [email protected] (no later than September 15, 2023)
3. Format requirement for soloists and narrators:
a. Prepare a video of yourself for your audition;
b. Utilize the Requiem mp3 as your soundtrack as background for your video; and
c. All audition music and narratives must be Requiem segments.
4. Format requirements for choir participants:
a. Prepare a video of yourself for the audition;
b. Sing “Introit” over the mp3 for that song
