About this Event

Blockchain is about more than crypto bros and rug pulls. Fundamentally, it is a tool for coordinated action, incentivizing disconnected participants to work together to achieve common goals. For example, a common goal of the Bitcoin network is to secure the network. In this session, Jason will provide a brief primer on the technology, present a specific idea he has to use blockchain for financial empowerment and social impact, and facilitate a discussion of the pros and cons of using this technology to do good.

Jason is from the U.S., but has lived in Berlin for almost 10 years. His background includes software engineering and practicing corporate law. He is a co-founder building eras.fyi, a money mindfulness and social impact platform that is blockchain-inspired. He tends to stay quiet, except when talking about queer dance parties, TV, injustice, and the apocalypse.
