About this Event
The focus for this particular session will be mark-making with THREAD, into both paper and fabric.
______________________________
In this workshop we will be exploring repetitive mark-making as a creative care practice. We'll chat about understanding and approaching art-making as a creative care practice ...something that we repeat, something that we reach for and bring into our lives as wee bits of soothing balm. Some reprieve from the ALL-ness of it all. Some space to gather and ground ourselves, so that we don't get stuck in the overwhelm. Space and practices to nourish, strengthen, and empower ourselves.
We'll explore art-making as a sensory experience ...how does it FEEL to be in a body that's making art ...making marks. Our focus will be on simple processes, that we repeat.
We'll also chat about some logistics around building (and maintaining) an ongoing creative care practice of your own (solo and/or in community).
NO experience with art or art-making is required to attend.

A FEW NOTES:
- This is an in-person series (address details above).
- The group will be small (6 people max).
- All art materials are provided.
- Tea is provided!
- Please arrive on time! (or about 5 minutes early, even better!)
- Accessibility: The studio itself is fully accessible, but the onsite washroom is unfortunately NOT (it's located in the loft area, with several stairs in-between).
- Health Guidelines: There is an air purifier in the studio, and the door can be propped open for extra ventilation. I won't be requiring masks, but absolutely support your choice to wear one. Please DO NOT attend if you are feeling sick (with anything) or think there is a chance you have been exposed to anything contagious. If you are sick you will receive credit for any missed sessions. Please do NOT attend if you are ill.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
If you're registered and find yourself unable to attend the series, I will offer a refund or credit up to 1 week BEFORE the group start date. Beyond that, you will be responsible for the registration cost ...though you are absolutely welcome to give your space to a friend!

NOTES ABOUT GROUPS IN GENERAL
- If you’d like a visual glimpse into what we get up to in my workshops/groups please visit me on Instagram (@heyheyshauna), or at www.heyshauna.com
- You needn’t have ANY experience with art or art materials to participate (and benefit from) any of my workshops.
- Groups are small, they are also generous, warm, and supportive... and easily among my favourite things.
- In all of my workshops, our focus is on exploring different art materials in lots of different ways …and noticing how those different materials and processes make us feel. And while I am here for any technical assistance you may need, our goal is not to focus on technical skill…but instead on curiosity.
