Repertoire Reading Session

ABOP's Protégés will have the unique opportunity to play selected excerpts from standard audition repertoire with a full symphony orchestra—Inner City Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (and friends)—conducted by Founder and Director, Charles Dickerson. Repertoire will include excerpts from: Beethoven, Symphony #9; Brahms, Symphony #1; Tchaikovsky, Symphony #4 and Romeo & Juliet; Rimsky-Korsakov, Scheherazade; Prokofiev, Lieutenant Kijé; Dukas, Sorcerer's Apprentice; and Gerhwin, Porgy and Bess. Join us to hear and learn how percussion plays such an integral part in these vibrant and exciting compositions by the Masters!
