Have a broken household item that's been sitting around waiting for a fix? Bring it to our Repair Café and work alongside one of our skilled volunteer Fixers to learn how to repair it yourself.
What's a Repair Café?
A Repair Café is a community event where volunteers help you repair everyday items while teaching you new skills along the way. It's a chance to save money, reduce waste, meet like-minded people, and support a more sustainable community.
⏰ Choose one registration window:
• 10:00–11:30 a.m.
• 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
During your registration window, a volunteer Fixer will work with you and your item. While you wait, you can:
📚 Browse our sustainability-themed book table
🛠️ Watch repair demonstrations
💬 Connect with others interested in fixing and sustainability
👀 Learn by watching other repairs
Before you register, please note:
✔️ This is a hands-on learning experience—not a drop-off service. You'll stay with your item and work alongside the Fixer.
✔️ Repairs are completed by volunteers, so while every effort is made, repairs cannot be guaranteed.
✔️ If your repair requires replacement parts, please bring them with you.
✔️ Our Fixers have basic tools and are especially experienced with small electrical household items (such as lamps and wiring).
❌ We are not able to repair electronics like cell phones or laptops.
When you register, tell us a little about your item so we can make sure it's a good fit for the event.
This program is offered in partnership with Living Green Barrie, Firebird Community Cycle, and BRIX Makerspace.
